Chemo Update, Believe

I though I had better update after today’s appointments. Our first appointment was to talk with the doctor but like a lot of our appointment in this day and age we got the nurse practitioner. We also got her at our last visit when we did our last tumor count. She gave us the bad news about the count going up to 5. As we were getting done she started the question and answers.
In talking about everything that was up and coming the tumor count came up and when I asked for the counts again she looked back and told us he was 372.5 in January, 535.6 in February and 512.0 in March, I stopped her and asked again and couldn't’t believe what she said so she gave me a copy. She had told us the last count was a 5 and we thought the one before was a 4. Well when you look at the numbers his count had gone down, not a lot but it did go down. I was floored; I couldn't’t believe that it wasn’t a big deal to them. It was good news, it had gone down.

When I brought these things up she said it could be leveling off. What’s leveling off? Well I guess they call it a form of remission but don’t totally give it to you in that form because it’s not down “a lot”. Well gang, any news at this point that is good no matter how small I want to know. Maybe they get gun shy, with all the emotions that go with cancer. In December our count was 1.4 so it jumped so much since then that to see that it had gone down was fantastic.

Well we caught the little mistake that is to our advantage and we will take all those kinds of mistakes that they will give us. We will do the last chemo here on next Wednesday and head home next Thursday. I guess it could be me also cause I thought we were done after this last chemo here but the nurse said as long as the count is going down we would probably keep doing the chemo so I guess we will see when we go back for the scan on the 14th of April. (Jackson birthday) I think Kent is really ready to go home, he keeps talking with Chad and Justin about the farm and that makes him ready to roll.
I on the other hand would stay for at least another month; to make sure the snow showers were closer to being done. Guess I can work on getting the house back in order after being gone for the last three and a half months and get back to playing with all my grand kids. I hope they miss me as much as I miss them.
