Our nurse came again today. She has been really good, and we are grateful that we changed Hospice companies.
Kent just really isn't gaining any energy. His oxygen level does not come up when he is off of the oxygen. His color is pale, and his eating is going down even more. We had to change his medications again, we are trying to keep him out of pain. Carmen thinks that the stroke was caused by the lack of oxygen to his brain because of the tumors around his heart.
Where does that put us now? Well I try not to get to worked up, because Kent always surprises us. But Carmen said that she believes he will be completely bed ridden by the end of the week, if he has not passed. She believes that by the end of next week if things stay the same Kent will probably pass. Although it has been coming, and we are aware of it. It sure does feel like getting kicked in the teeth again. Poor Kent has been through so much, one insult after another have made this disease all the more frustrating.
The girls and Justin have been here for the last several nights with their families. We have been trying to really just enjoy what little time we have. 2 weeks seems so quick, and yet we have been expecting this for a while. What the next little while brings only the Lord knows. We have seen Kent bounce back over and over. This time feels a bit different.
Don't waist anytime coming to see Kent if you would like to see him before he passes. Thank you to all for the love and support that our family has received during this hard time.
