Here we are...

I qwick post today, to update everyone. We are still in St. George. We are happy to be out of the snow, but it is still cold. I had to un-hook the motor home from the main water because it froze. eeekkk We were going to head out to Arizona but decided we are waiting a bit longer.

Kent had the super, bad, nasty chemo yesterday. His cancer is growing so fast, they can no longer "try" other things. They told us to expect total hair loss, sickness, sores and anything else you can think of. We are expected to see that around day 2, which is tomorrow. Those should last until day seven when his platelet count should plummet. Really plummet. They told me I can keep him on the vitamins. (that gives me some comfort) Then the whole process starts all over again. In early February we will have a body scan, and pray for some good news. We are due, don't you think?

Kent's spirits float from happy to sad to confused. Kinda like me. He sleeps most of the time, and my hope is that is, his body fighting back. We have been to see a movie, and done a little shopping. But mostly we just stay in. We have a few family and friends that we visit, or who visit us. That is nice. Davy and Raven are here, and Kent really likes to have Raven (Heidi) around. I like it to.

So we are bracing for what will happen now. Kent is sad that he will loose his hair, he has really struggled with that. And we are both disappointed to not be headed to Arizona right now. There are so many things that can go wrong, I don't dare take the chance. We continue to pray for the cure. Please check my post below, I am trying to get people to help me in my fight...

You are in our prayers. We love you guys so much and just wish we could snap our fingers and fix it.

Scot started losing his hair (receding hair line) and had me shave it. Most men look pretty hot with a shaved head. You never know, you might like it! :)

Love ya!

My dad looks pretty good without hair (no eyebrows either - but THOSE needed to be pruned anyway, they were so BUSHY!).

All joking aside, I'm sorry Kent has to go through all of this. I'm sorry YOU and the rest of your family have to go through this! I look at my mom and everything that she has to do to help my dad get through each day and I am just amazed. I don't know how you do it all and don't unravel. I've said this before, but Kent is so lucky to have you. You are a strength to him that no medicine can provide. Hang in there!

Hugs,
Afton

I talked to my dad a little about your previous post last night. My mom has a few Dr's that prescribe alternative medications for her allergies. If you haven't heard from my dad yet, give him a call - they may be able to find a Dr to help. You have a lot of people praying for you to beat this thing, too!
